Just give her her old school de KEMPEN notebook – it fits perfectly in her oversized handbag, looks stylish, and doesn’t interrupt her every five minutes with some notification.
"Thankfully, I wrote it down," must be Jill's motto. As structured as her P.E. lessons are, as chaotic as her mind is. Why does she get her most creative ideas at the craziest moments? She’s tried a hundred different note-taking apps, but none of them worked. She prefers to leave her smartphone at home. Just give her her old school de KEMPEN notebook – it fits perfectly in her oversized handbag, looks stylish, and doesn’t interrupt her every five minutes with some notification.
Recently, she was with her kids at an indoor play area – of all places – and got inspired by the play maze: that’s pure cubism! What if her students made a model like that, but inspired by Mondrian, and… and… In moments like these, her mind goes into overdrive. "I need to write this down!" She quickly sketches the concept, puts the idea into a few words, makes a to-do list beside it, and at home, she fully develops the concept. Those spontaneous ideas always turn into her most fun lessons.
That’s what she loves most about teaching art: the freedom. She never thought she’d become a teacher – more likely something in interior design or fashion – but now she can’t imagine any other life. The crazier her ideas, the more enthusiastic the students become.
“ Luckily, she had written it down. ”
And when one of her students told her that she was "totally not cringe" like some other teachers, and that they could even "vibe" with her (if she were 20 years younger, probably), she took it as a compliment. Not that she knew what those crazy words meant. But, "luckily, she had written it down." All those funny expressions and words from her students, she discreetly jots down in the margin of her notebook and looks them up during her break. Then, at the next evaluation, she can casually mention that her students really "slayed." "Wow, that P.E. teacher is really not cringe," they’ll probably think. Right?
Jill uses the BLUE NOTE Pocket because the calming blue provides a balance for her energetic mind. To be able to jot down her ideas anytime, anywhere, she goes for the small, ruled version.
Long live the notebook. The stories of our KEMPEN ambassadors prove it.
